Summer holiday ticket

All young people between the ages of 7 and 19 who are registered in Uppsala County will get a free summer holiday ticket from UL this summer, 2026. More information will be available soon.

Who is entitled to a free summer holiday ticket?

  • The ticket is valid for those aged 7 to 19, as well as those who turn 20 during the ticket's validity period.
  • Youths who are registered in Uppsala County will receive a letter with a personal voucher code that can be redeemed in the UL app. The letter will be sent in May.
  • Youths who live in Uppsala County but do not have a registration address, for example asylum seekers, are also entitled to a free summer holiday ticket but will not receive a letter in the mail. More information will be available soon.
  • Youths who are registered outside Uppsala County are not offered a free summer holiday ticket from UL, but are welcome to buy a ticket from the regular ticket assortment. Read more about our different youth tickets here.

When and where can I use the ticket?

  • The ticket is valid from 1 June 2026 to 31 August 2026, around the clock.
  • The ticket is valid for travel in the UL area with City buses, Regional buses, Mälartåg on the Uppsala-Sala, Uppsala-Gävle and Uppsala-Arlanda/Märsta routes, as well as the SL shuttle on the Uppsala-Knivsta-Arlanda route. Special rules apply to travel with buses to/from Stockholm County, read more about UL and SL here.
  • The person using the ticket is responsible for having the ticket available throughout the journey, and must be able to show it upon request by traffic personnel. Remember to keep the phone battery charged if the ticket is in the UL app.

Can I get the ticket on a UL card?

  • It will be possible to exchange the voucher code and receive the summer holiday ticket on a UL card instead. More information will be available soon.
